GENERAL LABORER / INSTALL / RESTORATION Elegant Stone Products, Inc.

JOB SUMMARY:

Directed and supervised by the Shop Floor Supervisor/Production Manager, the General Laborer is responsible for helping in all areas of Production and the installation of natural and man-made materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General Laborer

  1. Hand finishing as needed to help out in production, must be able to operate the FAST BACK.

  2. Operate the TITAN/CNC as needed.

  3. Assist in loading and unloading slab trucks (Forklift).

  4. Transporting of stone between the yard and production area.

  5. Assist in cleaning and upkeep of the production areas.

  6. Maintenance of equipment, which may include hand tools and rolling stock, etc.

  7. Load and unload A-Frames.

  8. Accepts other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Install Laborer

  1. Fill all horizontal and vertical seams with polyester resin colored to match stone.

  2. Set tops as close as practical to the same plane as cabinets including cook tops.

  3. Level and shim counter tops as needed per standards.

  4. Support tops every four to six inches at the sink and cook top fronts as well as any gap of 1/16th of an inch between the top and cabinet.

  5. Use solid bead of silicone between tops and cabinets.

  6. Use seam levelers and pullers whenever possible.

  7. Ensure all seams are as tight as possible and seam edges are blocked to smooth edges.

  8. Support large undermount sinks with a wood frame and seal to the top with a solid bead of silicon sealant (small undermount sinks are supported with clips)

  9. Caulk splashes to stone at vertical and horizontal seams; a bead of caulk is put on the bottom of splash prior to setting in place.

  10. Set splash to wall with silicon sealant, caulk on unfinished walls.

  11. Calk tops to cabinets and walls at the end of run

  12. Install fireplaces with 1/8th inch metal reveal except when specifically shown different.

  13. Ensure tops have a consistent overhang, except where an overhang is not necessary.

  14. Use drop cloths and vacuums to minimize dust and debris

  15. Conduct field cutouts outside whenever possible.

  16. Thoroughly clean and inspect jobsite both inside and outside prior to leaving.

  17. Submit installation report by the next workday including inventory sheet and pictures of completed job.

  18. Give an invoice to the customer before the job begins and clearly state that payment is expected, if applicable, or report to the Production Manager if no customer is present.

  19. Return all pieces to the shop are clearly marked and or labeled.

  20. Ensure all cutouts are left at the jobsite.

  21. No fabrication or extra work (including hole coring) is performed unless stated on shop order or with approval from Production Manager.

  22. Assist in pulling material for upcoming production.

  23. Follow all established written and unwritten procedures associated with the production area.

  24. Comply with OSHA requirements and establish company safety policies and procedures.

  25. Assist, as needed, in all other operational positions.

  26. Accepts other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Restoration

  1. Preform any restoration as assigned per ESP standards.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Attending required meetings and training sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school degree or equivalent; Forklift Operators license and a valid Driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The work environment for this position includes a non-temperature controlled indoor environment and exposure to changing weather conditions outdoors. The essential functions of this position require the ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions; ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled factory environment with temperatures ranging from 60-90 degrees depending on the season. Ear protection is required due to moderate and high noise levels. On a routine basis, it requires full body mobility and manual dexterity for operating equipment and tools, requiring the ability to stop, crouch, reach, stand, sit, walk, push, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. Must be able to lift and move up to 125 lbs.

Compensation

$18.00-$20.00 per hour
